Finally an episode that reasserts why I watch scrubs in the first place. There was none of the whiny annoying repetitiveness that has characterised it recently. Instead there was random people doing random things, the occasional funny aside, some nice character stuff and most of all there was stuff that was kinda sweet too.
It’s nice that they’ve made Kelso sympathetic, or as sympathetic as they could – he’s psychological torture of Ted is something that occasionally bordered on the rather disturbing. It reminded me of what they do to Meg in Family Guy, which was one of the reasons I stopped watching. I’m never quite sure in a show like this whether the character will actually be gone or not. I normally go and read it on the internet, but since I’ve got the next episode waiting for me I may just do that instead. I think the lack of the character could hurt the show as one of the good dynamics has always been Kelso and Cox.
Another of the things I enjoyed about this show was the Turk and JD moments. They’re still doing them regularly, but the ones in this episode just felt more normal and more genuine than others. I love how much time they spend together, and just how well they get on. Also, how cool was the Love Train fantasy? Man I wish I had been alive in the 70s for disco
